Happy Birthday, John Carpenter!

John Carpenter is one of my favorite directors. Born on January 16th, 1948, in Carthage, New York, he's been the visionary behind amazing films such as Escape From New York, They Live, The Thing, Big Trouble In Little China, Assault on Precinct 13, and Prince of Darkness, just to name a few. Some of them are guilty pleasures for me, such as Ghosts of Mars or Escape From L.A. I appreciate his work most when he employs a minimalist style. Whatever else you may say about a film of his, they almost always have an opinion, and I respect that.
